EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an integrative psychotherapy approach that has been extensively researched and proven effective for the treatment of trauma. EMDR is a set of standardized protocols that incorporates elements from many different treatment approaches. To date, EMDR therapy has helped millions of people of all ages relieve many types of psychological stress.

Using bilateral stimulation,  (eye movement or tactile stimulation) the process activates the opposite sides of the brain, releasing emotional experiences by reprocessing and desensitizing old memories which then creates opportunities for relief. The neuro-physiological system, the basis of the mind/body connection, works to free itself of blockages and reconnect itself in healthier and more positive ways. This technique that has been very successful helping people who suffer from trauma, anxiety, panic, depression, phobias, somatic symptoms, disturbing memories, post-traumatic stress and many other emotional challenges.
